The Complete Roller Manufacturing Process: From Metal Core to Finished Product

The manufacturing of industrial rollers is a precise, multi-stage process that combines metalworking expertise with advanced coating technology. At TexPro Iron Works, we follow a comprehensive manufacturing process that ensures every roller meets rigorous quality standards. ## Step 1: Metal Core Preparation We begin with seamless steel tubes that are cut to length, faced, and center-drilled. The tubes undergo lathe turning to achieve precise outer diameter tolerances. Bolt holes are drilled and tapped according to customer specifications. ## Step 2: Core Coating & Protection Metal cores receive a protective green primer coating to prevent rust during storage. Cores are then wrapped in plastic sheeting for dust and moisture protection before entering the production line. ## Step 3: Rubber or PU Application Depending on the roller type, rubber or polyurethane is applied to the metal core through compression molding, extrusion, or casting processes. The coating thickness is precisely controlled to meet specifications. ## Step 4: Surface Grinding The coated roller undergoes precision grinding to achieve the final diameter, surface finish, and profile (crowned, concave, grooved, or flat). CNC grinding machines ensure tolerance accuracy within ±0.05mm. ## Step 5: Dynamic Balancing Each roller is dynamically balanced to minimize vibration at operating speeds. Balancing weights are added as needed to achieve smooth, quiet operation. ## Step 6: Quality Control Final inspection includes dimensional verification, hardness testing (durometer for rubber), surface finish measurement, and visual inspection. Every roller is tagged with specifications before dispatch. At TexPro, quality is built into every step of the manufacturing process.
